Peer Support Volunteer [ More Info ]   
Peer support volunteers provide insight and encouragement to cancer patients and their caregivers. These specially-trained volulnteers work out of our Cambridge centre or at the Cancer Clinic at Cambridge Hospital and meet with clients on a one-to-one basis. Many peer support volunteers have had their own experience with cancer.

Reception/Administrative Support Volunteer [ More Info ]   
Reception volunteers play a significant role in welcoming newcomers and interacting with existing clients at HopeSpring. This position includes administrative tasks such as handling phone calls, photocopying, filing and a variety of other activities as well as working closely with HopeSpring staff and clients.
HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre

Visiting Library Service Volunteer [ More Info ]   
Visiting Library Service volunteers select books for home bound clients, deliver the books, visit with the client, and return the material to the library afterward.  
 
Suitable for adults who have good interpersonal skills and who love to read. Library membership not required but useful. 
 
Visiting Library Service is also provided in nursing and retirement homes.

Special Event Volunteers - Mayor's Celebration of the Arts [ More Info ]   
The event is on Friday, June 18, 2010; various day-of positions available, including set-up/tear-down, bartenders, entrance/exit greeters, and ticket sellers.
